Dyslexic Advantage’s 4th annual Karina Eide Young Dyslexic Writers Awards is accepting entries for 2019! We had a huge response to our 2018 incentive for DBN youth to enter, and we’re running the incentive again!

Any DBN youth that enter will receive a DBN Award of Excellence ribbon, and DBN will publish all of our youth’s entries.

Content – not spelling/grammar – is what is judged. Mistakes in spelling and grammar are acceptable, as are illustrations.

Who: Students with dyslexia age 7-17 years at the time of application

What: Creative fiction – Minimum word count 17 words. Maximum word count 700 words. Creative fiction, including Fan fiction, Short stories, and Poems are welcome.  Students may also submit 1 chapter or excerpt from a larger work to keep within the word limit. Please submit in word document or pdf file. Do not submit in the Pages format or it may not be considered.

When: Written work must be submitted by Jan 21st. Winners announced March 15.

Prizes: Over $1,000 will be awarded, and winning entries will be featured in a special digital publication of Dyslexic Advantage.  Plus, all DBN youth who enter will receive a DBN Award of Excellence ribbon, and their entries will be published by DBN.
